This is a rare advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the
Tenth Anniversary engagement of the groundbreaking RICHARD RODGERS and OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II musical comedy "OKLAHOMA!" at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre in Chicago, Illinois beginning October 6th, 1953. (The Original Broadway production opened March 31st, 1943 at the St. James Theatre in New York City and ran for 2212 performances. This revival opened August 31st, 1953 at the New York City Center Theatre and ran for a limited engagement of 40 performances before going out on the road.) ..... The ensemble cast included FLORENCE HENDERSON, RIDGE BOND, BARBARA COOK, MARY MARLO, CHARLES HART, CHARLES SCOTT, CHARLES RULE, HARRIS HAWKINS, ALFRED CIBELLI, JR., DAVID LE GRANT, JUDY RAWLINGS, MAGGI NELSON, BARBARA REISMAN, PATTI PARSONS, LYNNE BROADBENT, CATHY CONKLIN, OWEN MARTIN, GEORGE LAWRENCE and BOB LORD ..... CONDITION: This rare handbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
